Dominik Szoboszlai has denied his glaring error that led to Barnsley scoring against Liverpool last week was a result of disrespect on his part.

Szoboszlai came under immediate and significant criticism after gifting Adam Phillips a goal in the FA Cup fourth-round tie at Anfield. Liverpool led 2-0 at the time, Szoboszlai scoring the hosts’ first goal with a stunning 30-yard strike, but then suddenly found themselves under pressure after the Hungarian made a mess of what appeared at the time to be a hugely risky and entirely unnecessary back-heel attempt to goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili. Phillips was presented with a tap-in.
