Previous chair poised to return with huge majorityActing CEO says suggestions alternatives were ignored are ‘lies’
Yorkshire’s members have approved the controversial takeover of the club by Colin Graves at an extraordinary general meeting, with the resolutions needed for him to resume control passing by 746 to 99, an 88.3% majority. The former chairman will now return to the board once the Financial Conduct Authority green lights the move, which is expected within the next fortnight.
During the meeting Steven Vaughan, Yorkshire’s chief executive officer, described suggestions – including from the independent peer Baron Mann – that possible alternative bidders had been ignored as “absolute lies”.
