Who this privacy policy covers
SportsandCasinos.co.uk (“we”, “us”) is an independent UK website that publishes guides to sports betting and online casinos and compares welcome offers from licensed operators.
The site is run by Axi Media Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 05752322). Our registered office is 21 Elm Lane, Bourne End, Buckinghamshire, SL8 5PF. Axi Media Limited is the data controller for the personal data described in this privacy policy.
If you have a question about this policy or your data, please use our contact form.
What personal data we collect
You can read the site without giving us any personal details. We only collect personal data in the following situations.
When you contact us
If you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, subject and message. In addition, the form records your IP address, browser details and the page you sent it from, which helps us deal with spam. We store each message in our website’s admin area and also receive a copy by email.
We use these details only to read and reply to your message. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: responding to people who get in touch. We keep messages for up to two years and then delete them, unless we need them for longer to deal with an ongoing issue.
Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics, added through Google’s Site Kit plugin, to understand how people find and use the site. For example, which pages are popular and which devices visitors use. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to collect information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, your approximate location (country or city), your device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.
This data is aggregated. As a result, we can’t use it to identify you personally. Google acts as our data processor, and Google may process data outside the UK under its approved safeguards. You can read more in Google’s privacy policy and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Server logs and security
Like most websites, our hosting provider (Hostinger) automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request. Hostinger uses these logs to keep the site secure and working properly, and keeps them for a short period only.
Affiliate links and operator sites
Many links on this site, including offer buttons, are affiliate links. If you click one and open an account with an operator, we may receive a commission. This doesn’t change the offer you get.
When you click an affiliate link, the operator or affiliate network may record that the visit came from us, usually with a cookie or a tracking ID in the link. We receive reports about sign-ups and activity so that commission can be calculated. However, these reports don’t include your name, email address or account details.
Once you leave our site, the operator’s own privacy policy and terms apply. Please read them before you sign up.
Third-party content
Our news pages show headlines and links from other publishers. Some images, such as publisher logos, may load from third-party websites, which can see your IP address when they load. That said, we don’t embed tracking from these publishers, and following a link takes you to their site, where their own privacy policy applies.
Your rights under this privacy policy
Under UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- get a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- have data that is wrong or incomplete corrected
- ask us to delete your data
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data
- ask for your data in a portable format, where this applies.
To make a request, please use our contact form. We will respond within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Age restriction
This site is for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has sent us their details, please contact us and we will delete them.
Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this privacy policy when we change how the site works or when the law changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last updated.
