This page explains how we rate offers on Sports and Casinos. Every offer follows the same checks, so you can compare them fairly. It covers who reviews our offers, what we check, how we work out an offer’s value and how we make money, so you can decide how much to rely on our figures.
How we rate offers: key facts
- We only list operators licensed by the UK Gambling Commission.
- Every offer is checked against the operator’s full terms, not just the headline.
- Estimated value is the average return you could expect from an offer. It is not a guarantee.
- We may earn a commission when you sign up through our links. This never changes our ratings or estimated values.
- We update offers when the terms change and remove them when they end.
Who reviews our offers
Offers and guides on Sports and Casinos are reviewed by Jon, our editor. Jon has worked in the UK iGaming industry for over six years, running comparison and review sites.
Where we can, we test offers ourselves: opening an account, making a qualifying deposit or bet, and going through verification and withdrawal to see what players actually experience.
What we check on every offer
- Licence: a current UK Gambling Commission licence, confirmed on the Commission’s public register.
- Qualifying terms: the minimum deposit or stake, minimum odds, eligible payment methods and any time limits.
- Wagering and restrictions: wagering requirements, which games or markets count, maximum stakes and maximum win caps.
- Free bet and free spin rules: whether stakes are returned, how long free bets last and the value of each spin.
- Payments and withdrawals: which methods are excluded from the offer and any limits on withdrawing winnings.
- Safer gambling tools: deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion, including GamStop.
How we work out estimated value
Estimated value takes the value of the bonus and subtracts the money you would expect to lose while qualifying for it.
- Free bets: we estimate how much of the free bet’s value you can usually keep. Because most free bets don’t return the stake, a £10 free bet is normally worth less than £10.
- Free spins: we multiply the number of spins by the value of each spin and the game’s return to player (RTP).
- Bonuses with wagering: we also factor in the expected cost of playing through the wagering requirement.
Estimated value is an average across many players. Sports results and slots are unpredictable, so your own result on any single offer could be higher or lower.
Which operators we list
We only list bookmakers, casinos and bingo sites licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. Licensed operators must verify your age and identity, protect your money and give you tools to control your gambling. All offers we list are for new UK customers aged 18 and over. We do not list unlicensed or offshore sites.
Keeping offers up to date
We check offers regularly against each operator’s terms. When a headline, value or condition changes, we update the offer, and when an offer ends, we remove it. If you spot something that looks wrong, please contact us and we’ll check it.
How we make money
Sports and Casinos is free to use. We may earn a commission from an operator when you sign up through a link on our site, at no cost to you. Commission never affects our estimated values or the order we list offers in.
Gambling responsibly
Betting and casino offers should be fun, not a way to make money you need. Only deposit what you can afford to lose, set deposit limits on every account and take regular breaks. You can block access to all UK-licensed gambling sites through GamStop, and free, confidential support is available from BeGambleAware.org.
18+. Please gamble responsibly.
